This is within this good environment for developing digital projects that the maker lab named “BloLab” was born.
This is a rest day in Bombouaka before we leave tomorrow to drive back to Sokodé. We run some errands in Dapaong, wash the car, meet with the team in charge of the Don Orione Center, exchanging fraternal and reciprocal thanks, before we take one last picture with the whole staff.
This is a very busy day, starting with a preparatory meeting with the Oti’s prefect, Mister Ouadja, who will preside the inaugural ceremony of 2 computer rooms, which are planned for today.
This is within the framework of an academic course on “Computer Tools” that, Wednesday December 6th, Hervé – a member of our collective – made a presentation on Emmabuntüs. This course is led by Antoine Caumel and is intended for students following the Master 1 degree “Contemporary Societies : ethical, political and social challenges” of the Paris Descartes university.
At 8AM this morning we are at the CRETFP (Regional college for technology education and vocational training) in Dapaong to meet with the responsible persons for this school and those of Jump Lab’Orione, YovoTogo and the Tandjouaré-Dapaong Rotary Club. The goal of this meeting is to define the conditions under which the “FabLab-OrthoLab” project will be implemented, this project including a computer room, an incubator for digital activities, supplemented by a 3D printing unit to produce parts for the disabled children orthopedic center of Bombouaka.
On today’s agenda, we plan to visit three out of the seven training rooms which have been implemented until last year. We start with the one in the Bombouaka high school, then those of Tandjouaré and finally those of Nano. Generally the attendance rate as well as the equipment follow up are satisfactory.
Intense and very busy day : in the morning visit to the children, then to the youth, all ready to go to school or college. It is a very special time when each face regains its name. We share some news and meet up again with Joseph the maintenance man and Richard the driver.
