On Thursday 11 July 2024, the A.S.I YOVOTOGO received 100 computers from the “Notre-Dame du Roc” high-school in La Roche-sur-Yon. Every year since 2016, this high-school has graciously donated all or part of its refurbished IT equipment to give it a second life teaching IT and office automation to students in the Savannah region of Togo, the most disadvantaged region in one of the poorest countries in West Africa.
90 computers accessible to the visually impaired!
On 25 and 26 July 2024, Mickaël and Claude refurbished the equipment using the latest version of the Emmabuntüs Debian Edition 5 1.02 distribution, adapted for the visually impaired by our partner, the Emmabuntüs Collective.
This new distribution includes several accessibility applications for the visually impaired and is a response to our request to donate this batch of computers to the “Fédération togolaise des associations de personnes handicapées” (Federation of the Togolese associations for disabled persons) to equip the 11 specialized centers for the visually impaired throughout the whole Togo country.
